Dear Prospective Member,

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my philosophy behind the creation of Hidden Glen at Bentdale Farms.

In September of 1998, Paul Becker came to me and asked me to make his dream come true. That dream was to create the premiere private golf club in Wisconsin. A tall order, true enough, but a challenge I gladly accepted.

From the word "go", Paul and I had a common vision of what this course ought to be. It was to be a pure golf course, a world-class course built in the tradition of classic tracks like Pine Valley and Pinehurst #2, and it needed to have the four characteristics that all the great courses in the world share. First, each hole has to be memorable. Each hole needs to be so distinct in the golfer's mind that they can play the hole over and over in their head after teeing up on the hole just once. Second, the course has to be fun. It has to be the kind of course that people enjoy playing, whether they are a scratch golfer or a 35 handicap. Third, it has to be playable. Some of the so-called greatest courses in the world are among the most unplayable of the lot. And finally, the course must be so exciting, so fun to play that it inspires the golfer to play round after round.

I've built 50 golf courses in my 31 years of doing this and Hidden Glen is the most challenging, fun, playable and original course I have designed. I think you will be amazed with what we have been able to do with 200 acres of Wisconsin's finest farmland. Each and every hole is a product of the culmination of talents of the finest golf course developers, turf specialists, landscapers and laborers in the world.

As with every course I have ever designed, Hidden Glen was not created on computer, but on the land itself. We used natural soils and natural land configurations to create a masterpiece. We took care to make each hole a true original. A variety of greens, a few water shots, some strategically-placed bunkers and a couple blind shots here and they all add up to make this course challenging, fun, memorable and hopefully even awe-inspiring.

I am proud to welcome you to Hidden Glen. Paul and I have poured our soul into each and every hole and we hope that you are as excited about the future here at Hidden Glen as we are. Thank you for your time and hope to see you soon.

Cordially,
